When we began planning this album we had a few ideas. The first was to remember Ramond Premru, (1934-1998) who meant so much to all of us. . . Of Knights and Castles is from Ramond Premu's Divertimento which was written for the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble in 1976. In the score's notes he writes, "The work was written in the summer of 1976 in Montreux and London. It is the sort of music which needs no explanation."
